The assurance was given during a visit of the new REC, Ike Uzochukwu, to the Abia commissioner of police, Mustapha Bala, on Tuesday in Umuahia
Political parties were also asked to provide their campaign timetables to the command to aid necessary security actions.
The Election and Political Parties Monitoring Department (EPM) of the commission would track campaign activities, INEC said.
Governor Dave Umahi will represent the APC for the Ebonyi South senatorial seat.
INEC recently expressed concern over the low turnout of residents for the registration across the newly created 1,750 polling units in Katsina.
The electoral body said its decision to increase the devices in use was to facilitate the process for interested residents of 18 years and above.
Mr Ononamadu spoke against the backdrop of reported double registration by some Nigerians.
The youths, numbering about 1,000, lamented that only one registration machine was attending to over 1,500 registrants at the Okpara Square in Enugu.
The NSCDC acting Deputy Commandant-General, Haruna Muhammad, said that voter turnout was impressive and without chaos.
The REC said that some registrants were not aware that they did not need to register again if they had done so before.
