“Our late governor was deeply disappointed and regretful of certain behaviours and character traits displayed by Mr Aiyedatiwa,” said the former CPS.
Mr Akeredolu died at a German hospital on December 27, 2023, where he was receiving treatment.
The governor’s family members, including his son, appeared unable or unwilling to compel his resignation, which may further protract the state’s political crisis.
“The entire health sector is in shambles, and major roads within Ondo State are in dire need of repair.”
“The truth of the matter is that the governor is fulfilling his constitutional role,” said Mr Olatunde.
The activists asked the speaker of the state assembly, Olamide Oladiji, to act by setting up a team medical panel to ascertain Mr Akeredolu’s health.
The governor, however, directed the ministry of information and orientation to provide adequate coverage for the activities of the deputy’s governor office henceforth.
The Ondo governor embarked on a 21-day leave on June 7 and was expected to return on July 6.
He said the state government procured the “state-of-the-art” firefighting equipment as part of its commitment to enhancing the fire service’s capabilities.
The governor ordered that all petrol stations in the state dispense of fuel in their reservoirs to ease the long hours that people spent at fuel stations.
