The police command in Plateau has restricted movement in five local government areas ahead of Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The parliament presided over by Speaker Gabriel Dewan, resolved to make the call after a motion of urgent public importance during its plenary on Tuesday.
Troops also recovered one revolver pistol, and two locally fabricated guns concealed by the suspect.
The task force made the declaration shortly after an on-the-spot visit to the displaced communities, including Mangu, Bokkos, Barking Ladi, Riyom, and Bassa.
