The victory solidifies Mr Tinubu’s reputation as a political giant-slayer who defied all the odds to upstage the so-called cabal of President Buhari’s aides and associates.
At least five delegates from both states told The Gazette in separate interviews Tuesday that they were offered American banknotes to support Mr Tinubu and the vice president.
The so-called shortlist was purportedly submitted to President Buhari on Tuesday.
“The president told us any of these five are qualified to be president and have contributed to the party. He said he is comfortable with any of them.”

The two days screening exercise, currently taking place at Transcop Hilton Hotel, Abuja, is led by former APC national chairman, John Odigie Oyegun.
