Ibrahim Fada was docked in a Sharia court sitting at Rigasa, Kaduna, for alleged breach of trust and cheating.
The judge, Salisu Abubakar-Tureta, made the ruling after the accused pleaded guilty to the offence bordering on theft.
The court gave her an option to pay a fine of N3,000, and also ordered her to refund N16,340 to the complainant.
”My father arranged and forced me to marry without first knowing the man I was marrying.”
The accused said he usually gave her N200 whenever they met.
A 20-year-old trader Murtala Suleiman on Wednesday was convicted of stealing chicken and turkeys.
“I want to remarry, but all my suitors complain that I have many children.”
The convict confessed that she used petrol to burn the new bride’s house out of jealousy, according to the prosecutor.
