The Rivers government reiterated its commitment to eradicating all forms of sexual and gender-based violence against women, girls, and other vulnerable persons.
He expressed gratitude to members of his cabinet for their contributions to the state’s development in the past two years.
Last Tuesday, Mr Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers state.
Mr El-Rufai called Mr Tinubu’s proclamation of an emergency rule “a wanton aggression against democratic tenets and the rule of law.”
Reps spokesman said the National Assembly was duly consulted before the president declared a state of emergency.
“It is a welcome and positive decision by President Tinubu to restore order to Rivers, which was fast becoming a failed state,” Mr Basiru stated.
“Nigeria is not under a military rule where the governance of a state is by appointment by a junta,” said the PDP.
According to Fara Dagogo, the only legal way to remove a governor or a deputy governor is through impeachment by the state parliament.
