The police command has arrested five men for impersonating officers.
This was disclosed in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, to mark the 2025 Customer Service Week.
The police said the suspects, Mathew Adewole and Mukhtar Muhammad, were apprehended on September 11 at Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano.
He explained that the command had set up an enforcement team to ensure compliance with traffic rules and regulations.
Mr Kiyawa urged residents to celebrate responsibly and embrace the spirit of unity, love, and tolerance that Eid-el-Fitr symbolised.
Mr Kiyawa listed the items recovered to include three locally made revolvers; 12 live ammunition of different calibres, three cartridges, two cutlasses and four knives
The command’s spokesman, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, disclosed this during a parade of the suspects at the police headquarters on Friday.
