Ms Adeh said Ms Ameh reported to the Maitama Police Station to provide details of her disappearance.
The police urged anyone with useful information that may assist the investigation to come forward.
The scheme was initiated to enhance personnel welfare and address their transportation challenges.
The police said they received a distress call at about 7:00 a.m. on Monday, reporting about 300 individuals storming the NURTW headquarters in Garki.
She said investigations were being expanded to apprehend the receivers of the stolen vehicles.
Ms Adeh said the caller had reported that armed robbers, numbering about three, were attacking motorists near the MRS Filling Station in Kado.
Ms Adeh said the command had commenced discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
The police spokesperson urged the public to remain vigilant and provide timely, credible information to assist law enforcement efforts.
Ms Adeh said the child was brought to the police station at about 4:00 pm after efforts to locate his parents or relatives proved unsuccessful.
Ms Adeh said the CP called on FCT residents to remain security-conscious and vigilant, particularly when boarding commercial vehicles.
