Mr Ukandu said that the command’s Anti-kidnap Unit had taken over the matter to fish out the perpetrators of the crime.
Mr Ukandu explained that the victim died on March 2 before the rescue team of the Nigeria Police Force could reach there.
The state police spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, told journalists on Sunday in Abakaliki that the children were abducted on Saturday morning.
The police spokesperson said that 10 people were earlier arrested in connection with the incident.
Mr Uche-Anya disclosed that the incident occurred on January 27 at about 10:30 p.m. around Hariz Filling Station.
Mr Ukandu said the command’s men had already launched an investigation into the matter to arrest the hoodlums.
The state police spokesperson stated that the incidents occurred between November 12 and 13.
The spokesman noted that the Commissioner of Police, CP Adaku Uche-Anya, had reaffirmed the command’s unwavering commitment to rid the state of criminal elements.
Mr Ukandu noted that the students were found in Enugu through a phone call to one of the parents.
The CP assured residents that the command remained committed to the protection of lives and property.
