Mr Ukandu said the DPO confirmed that the victims were abducted on July 24 on their farms, and the police were yet to know the culprits.
He explained that out of the 939 suspected criminals, 887 were males aged between 17 and 60 years.
The spokesman noted that a search revealed a locally made single-barrel pistol with a live cartridge in his possession.
Mr Ukandu said that the suspect allegedly committed the crime at Egugho, Ezzagu in Ishielu Local Government area of the state.
The PPRO noted that the command had intensified efforts to apprehend the other members of the gang.
Mr Ukandu said that the command had yet to get the full details of what led to the death of the man and his son.
Mr Ukandu said that Ovuta was arrested in Okoffia community, Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
According to Mr Ukandu, the officer’s action violates the ethics and standard operating procedures (SOP) of the police.
Mr Ukandu said during the investigation, one of the suspects confessed to the crime.
Mr Ukandu said that the attack occurred on Sunday morning.
