Mr Speaker said that the lawmakers would continue to work with the Tinubu administration.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has urged members to ensure that the petroleum sector serves the interests of all Nigerians.
Mr Abbas said the parliament must work with relevant authorities, particularly the law enforcement agencies, to ensure that gender-based violence was curbed.
Mr Abbas said effective regulation would also help to maintain high standards of ethical conduct, competence and professionalism among engineering professionals.
The speaker advised youths to explore starting meaningful businesses to become successful entrepreneurs like Aliko Dangote or Femi Otedola.
Mr Tinubu said Nigeria’s economic challenges, including food insecurity, stem from a reliance on imported goods and inefficient local production.
Mr Tajudeen said women constituted approximately 49.45 per cent of Nigeria’s total population as of 2023, but it does not reflect so in governance.
He expressed the commitment of the legislators to support youth and women’s development through various projects and programmes.
Mr Abbas added that the investigation was to provide enough guidance on curbing the menace of illegal mining.
