Seventeen of the 25 assembly members signed the notice to impeach the speaker.
The Speaker, Elvert Anyambem, was impeached on Wednesday.
The notice stated that the speaker misappropriated N48 million, which was meant to pay the assembly’s electricity bills.
The confirmation of the nominees took place after a thorough screening on the floor of the assembly.

“Mr speaker, you don’t have the right to unilaterally suspend any member of the house. You must call for votes,” the opposing legislators said.
