The police charged Mr Abdul of Suleja, Niger State, with receiving stolen property, but the defendant pleaded not guilty.
The judge struck out Relief One in Mr Kanu’s motion and ordered that the prosecution and the NCoS be served for them to respond in the interest of justice.
The police spokesperson named the suspects as Umar Abubakar, 24; Ibrahim Lawali, 18; Sirajo Musa, 25; and Adamu Lawal, 25.
The supposed victim reportedly decided to return from Kaduna after the ransom was not forthcoming.
”We recovered from them exhibits including one axe, one knife, four bags, six wrappers, ten ATM cards, two purses, slippers and other items believed to have been stolen,” the police said.
The governor described the incident as pathetic.
He urged residents of the area to remain calm and cooperate with emergency responders.
The commissioner said that the affected local government areas were Paiko, Gurara, Suleja, Bosso, and Katcha.
He said the emir has done so well in preserving and strengthening the cultural heritage of the emirate.
