The police command in Abuja has foiled a kidnap attempt and recovered an AK-47 rifle in the Redeemed Church area of Byazhin, near Paze hills in Abuja.
He said that the attack had started last week on Monday, but the major one happened on Friday night without anybody stopping them.
He alleged that police had followed him from the airport upon his arrival in Nigeria.
Earlier today, riots broke out in the Mile 12, Iyana-Iba, Ojota, Agege and Ikorodu areas of Lagos over naira scarcity.
The police said the kidnappers fled into the bush and abandoned their victims after they were engaged in a “fierce gun duel”.
Mr Oyeyemi said two locally made pistols, assorted charms and other ammunition were recovered from them.
