The company said a team of linesmen from TCN discovered the fault on the line at about 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s spokesperson, said the recovery process commenced swiftly, with Azura Power Station providing the necessary blackstart.
Electricity distributors said they did not receive energy from the Transmission Company of Nigeria starting at about 7:00 p.m., as millions returned home after a long day at work.
TCN said the development had thrown Damaturu in Yobe and Maiduguri in Borno out of power supply.
Bayelsa was thrown into darkness following the collapse of two transmission towers attacked by vandals.
The TCN said that 13 towers from T52 to T64 were affected by the act of vandalism.
