TCN said that Yenagoa metropolis and other parts of Bayelsa had no power supply following the towers’ damage.
“The MO in these notices requested that corrective actions be taken within a specified period to address the default.’’
Mrs Mbah said that suspects would soon be prosecuted.
TCN said the reinforcement would occur between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
TCN has notified residents in some parts of Abuja to expect a power outage from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s spokesperson, said in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday that the towers supplied bulk power to substations in the North East.
“TCN’s engineering crew discovered that towers 288, 289, 290, and 291 were vandalised.’’
Nigeria has been plunged into darkness following a power outage as its national power grid collapses.
Some experts, who spoke in separate interviews on Thursday in Lagos, also decried the companies’ arbitrary charges.
The lawmakers said the timely intervention of TCN could save the power station from total collapse.
