The DNA expert told the court that he had practised in forensics for 15 years and had conducted over 500 forensic tests.
Witnesses said the fire was caused by a spark in a diesel-laden vehicle parked near a fuel station.
The victims, who live where the explosion occurred, said in an interview with journalists that life has been challenging for them since then.
“The suspects are currently under custody undergoing further interrogation,” he said.
A victim, Ibrahim Kudus, was killed by gunmen. The assailants shot him dead, threw his body into a car and set it ablaze.
The NSCDC commandant in the state, Muhammed Ibrahim, assured that the suspects would be taken to court after a full investigation.
The 33-year-old father and suspect hails from Ede in Osun and resides in the Olodo area of Ibadan.
The court ruled that the prosecution proved the three-count charge of conspiracy, armed robbery and membership of an unlawful society against Mr Onyinchiz.
“The ASP that shot and two others with him have since been taken into custody. They are to be moved to the SCID for further investigation,” Mr Hundeyin said.
Mr Kamilu said the suspect, a teacher at a private school in Maiduguri, had been apprehended last week.
