China’s foreign minister, Wang Yi, restated the country’s resolve to strengthen its economy to withstand growing global challenges.
Mr Wang said the situation in Iran remains the focal point in the current international discussion.
Russia and China’s restraint reflected a cold calculation, analysts stated, noting that intervening as Iran faces Israel and the U.S. would bring unpredictable risks.
China and the UK on Friday agreed to develop a long-term and consistent comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries
Mr Wang is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
He commended the China-Nigeria diplomatic relations to have been established on mutual grounds.
He said a visit to the Central African country was designed to build consensus on improving and upgrading the forum’s cooperation.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning disclosed this at a virtual news conference organised by the ministry on Friday in Beijing.
According to him, the summit’s success will contribute to Africa’s development and revitalisation.
“By fostering direct business engagements, we are paving way for increased bilateral trade.”
