Aminu Tambuwal (PDP-Sokoto) has called on Nigerians to foster a belief in their country and themselves as patriotic citizens capable of driving the necessary changes for national prosperity.

Mr Tambuwal, the immediate past governor of the state made the assertion while addressing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members at the inauguration of a food distribution programme for Ramadan and Sallah celebrations in the state.

He emphasised the importance of embracing reality and garnering support for the nation’s progress.

“We must recognise and address the myriad challenges facing our nation,” he said, stressing the need for collective action beyond partisan divides.

Mr Tambuwal emphasised the urgency of addressing insecurity, drawing from his experience as a former governor who dealt with security challenges.

“We need collaborative efforts among leaders to ensure lasting peace and security.

“I am committed to supporting initiatives like the Sokoto State Community Guards for a safer Sokoto and Nigeria,” he affirmed.

In his remarks, the state PDP chairman, Bello Goronyo, lauded the party’s initiative to alleviate the hardship being faced by the members.

“These relief efforts underscore our party’s ethos of empathy and kindness,” Mr Goronyo remarked, expressing gratitude to the members for their unwavering support.

The distribution, aimed at reaching 30,000 households across the state, reflects the party’s commitment to addressing the pervasive challenges of poverty, hunger, and insecurity.
