TCN announces power outage in parts of Abuja, Nasarawa

The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced a power outage affecting parts of Abuja and Nasarawa following a fault on its Apo-Karu 132kV transmission line.
In a statement on Tuesday, the company said the transmission line tripped at 5:31 p.m. on Monday, causing power disruption to the Karu Transmission Substation.
The company stated that following a physical inspection of the line, TCN engineers identified a cut jumper on the yellow phase at Tower T2.
“TCN’s maintenance crew is scheduled to carry out urgent repairs on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, to restore the line to service.
“Consequently, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has been unable to supply power to customers in Karu, Nyanya, Kugbo, Jikwoyi, Kurudu, Orozo, Karshi, Mararaba, and adjoining areas,” it said.
