The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says it has restored power on the Benin-Omotosho 330kV transmission line following an outage caused by detached conductors.

The TCN disclosed this in a statement issued by its general manager, public affairs, Ndidi Mbah, on Friday in Lagos.

Ms Mbah said the transmission line was restored at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday after engineers completed the restringing of conductors and carried out maintenance on the affected sections.

She explained that the line had been out of service since June 25 due to the detachment of conductors.

According to her, the restoration of the line will enable the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, Eko Electricity Distribution Company and Ikeja Electric Plc to off-take more electricity for distribution to customers within their franchise areas.

Ms Mbah apologised for the inconvenience caused by the outage and appreciated the understanding and cooperation of customers and other stakeholders throughout the repair period.
