Team U.S. dismantle Super Falcons during Kansas friendly tour

Nigeria’s Super Falcons were at the receiving end of the U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) brutality as they were thrashed 4-0 in the first leg of the double-header fixture of the United States friendly tour.
Sophia Smith opened the scoring for the reigning World Cup champions just fourteen minutes into the match, before Lindsey Hiram doubled the lead eleven minutes later.
Smith got her brace in the 45th minute to hand the Americans a 3-0 halftime lead.
USWNT picked it up from where they left it in the first half when forward Alex Morgan netted a penalty in the 52nd minute for the hosts to stay four goals ahead.
At the blow of the full-time whistle, the Americans walked away with a deserved 4-0 win at the Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City on Saturday evening.
The two sides will lock horns again in the return leg of the encounter at the Audi Field Stadium, Washington, on Tuesday, September 6.
