A tech consultant, Nima Momeni, has been convicted of second-degree murder in the murder of Cash App founder Bob Lee.

The convict faces a sentence of 15 years to life imprisonment for killing Mr Lee.

On Tuesday, Mr Momeni’s mother, Mahnaz Tayarani, rejected the conviction, saying her son would appeal it.

“We are victims of drug abuse. I know my son…(sic) this is not a fair trial,” Ms Tayaran told reporters outside the courtroom.

Following the conviction, Mr Lee’s brother, Oliver Lee, said his family was “happy with the result.”

“We’re happy that Nima Momeni won’t be on the streets, no longer has the opportunity to harm anyone else in this world,” he said.

The sentencing date will be set at a hearing on January 10, 2025.
