Things are working; Nigerians not complaining, says APC pastor

Nicolas Felix, a pastor and an All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, says regardless of subsidy removal, Nigeria is working and Nigerians are not complaining.
Mr Felix made this statement in an interview with Channels TV on Thursday morning, discussing subsidy removal by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
“What I’m saying is the president just came in putting things together. Give him time. Things are going to change. Things are working gradually. Things are going to be put in place. Nigerians are not complaining,” Mr Felix said.
Asked if the Nigerians he said are not complaining are the ones based in America, Mr Felix said, “I’m a Nigerian. You need to listen to an average Nigerian.”
“I’m a pastor. I relate with them. I have churches all over. I’m still a pastor. I relate with them, yes, they feel the pain but they understand that it is for our own good.”
Contrary to Mr Felix’s claim, Nigerians berated the sudden subsidy removal by the Mr Tinubu administration without provision for palliatives to cushion the negative effect of the policy.
A U.S.-based pastor of the Miracle Church International, Mr Felix contested the APC presidential primary election in June but stepped down for then Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.
He first contested for the presidency in 2019 on the platform of the Peoples Coalition Party (PCP).
