Three men in court over alleged possession of iron rods, sheets

Three men, Moris Nelson (41), Nasiru Ibrahim (25) and Sambo Musa (18), were on Wednesday arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly being in possession of iron rods and sheets.
The defendants, of unknown addresses, are facing a charge of possession of iron rods and iron sheets.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.
The prosecutor, Inspector Elijah Adejare, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on May 9 at about 08:00 a.m in Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendants had in their possession iron rods and iron sheets suspected to have been stolen.
Mr Adejare said that the offence contravened Section 345 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
He urged the court to adjourn the case to enable him to study the file and assemble his witnesses.
Counsel to the defendants, Timi Omotosho, urged the court to grant the defendants bail, with a promise that they would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Kehinde Awosika, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N10, 000 with one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until June 9, for mention.
