Tinubu, Macron hold private meeting in Paris
President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, held a private working lunch with French President, Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace in Paris.
The meeting was part of Mr Tinubu’s itinerary during his 10-day working vacation in Europe, which includes stops in France and the United Kingdom.
Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the development in a brief statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
Mr Tinubu departed Abuja on September 4 for France for a working vacation.
Mr Onanuga explained that the trip formed part of the president’s official annual leave for 2025.
”Tinubu will spend the period between France and the UK and then return to the country,” Mr Onanuga said.
Although details of Mr Tinubu’s meeting with Mr Macron on Wednesday were not disclosed, it was believed the discussions aimed to further strengthen bilateral ties between both countries.
This marked the first time the president took an official leave this year.
