Tinubu, Macron hold private meeting in Paris

President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, held a private working lunch with French President, Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace in Paris.

‎The meeting was part of Mr Tinubu’s itinerary during his 10-day working vacation in Europe, which includes stops in France and the United Kingdom.

‎Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the development in a brief statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

‎Mr Tinubu departed Abuja on September 4 for France for a working vacation.

‎Mr Onanuga explained that the trip formed part of the president’s official annual leave for 2025.

‎”Tinubu will spend the period between France and the UK and then return to the country,” Mr Onanuga said.

‎Although details of Mr Tinubu’s meeting with Mr Macron on Wednesday were not disclosed, it was believed the discussions aimed to further strengthen bilateral ties between both countries.

‎This marked the first time the president took an official leave this year.
