Tinubu ‘playing mind games’ with Nigerians: Festus Keyamo
Festus Keyamo, a spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council, has mocked critics of the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, following the sudden arrival of the latter’s back to the country amid his health status.
Mr Tinubu, who had been absent for about two weeks as political campaigns officially begin in the build-up to the 2023 election, returned to Nigeria on Thursday with admiration from his supporters.
The absence of the APC flag bearer mostly at key political events amid his frail health has generated wide reactions among Nigerians who had been questioning his whereabouts.
“He teased them; he played mind games with them; their thoughts went wild but @officialABAT is the master of the game. Just when they thought they had something on which to feast, he’s rather the one now feasting on their naivety. Welcome back, the City Boy,” Mr Keyamo tweeted to slam critics of the APC presidential candidate.
Mr Tinubu had been in the United Kingdom where he was presumed to be attending his health in preparation for the 2023 race.
His absence had forced his party to repeatedly postpone the official launching of its presidential campaign while his spokesmen battled to defend his fitness for the country’s top seat.
Mr Tinubu, a former Lagos governor, has shown several instances of frail health in the public with videos and pictures emerging of what appeared to be suffering from urinary incontinence.
