Tolu Arokodare joins Wolves, Chukwueze seals loan to Fulham, Boniface moves to Werder Bremen

The summer transfer deadline saw major moves for Nigerian internationals, as striker Tolu Arokodare secured a transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Samuel Chukwueze completed a loan to Fulham from AC Milan, and Victor Boniface finalised a deal with Werder Bremen.
Wolves signed 24-year-old striker Arokodare from Belgian side Genk on a four-year deal, allowing the young attacker to play at the Molineux for around €27 million, a club-record sale for Genk.
Last season, Arokodare finished as the highest goal scorer, winning the Belgian Golden Boot with 21 league goals, finishing on 23 across all competitions, and adding seven assists.
He started at Valmiera in Latvia, scoring 22 goals in 34 matches, then had loan spells at Köln and Amiens before joining Genk in 2023, where he bagged 15 goals in 52 appearances in his first season.
Arokodare earned his Nigeria debut for the nation’s national team in March 2024 against Ghana before making his move to the Premier League.
“It feels amazing. It did take a while, but I’m here finally, and I’m happy to be here. I didn’t need convincing. I know the history of the club and the players that have been here and how they’ve progressed to become better players.
“I like the project of the club, and that’s what I want for myself. I want to improve, and I want to progress and help this team,” Arokodare said after signing.
Meanwhile, in West London, Fulham landed 25-year-old winger Samuel Chukwueze on loan from AC Milan, with an option to buy for about €25 million.
He joins Marco Silva’s side to help boost the club’s attacking threat after arriving at Milan from Villarreal in 2023, making 69 appearances, scoring eight goals, and providing six assists for the Rossoneri
Nigerian Super Eagles striker Boniface joins Werder Bremen from Bayer Leverkusen on a season-long loan until June 2026.
The move comes after a potential transfer for the striker to Italian giants AC Milan collapsed due to a medical check conducted on the player and the failure to reach personal terms with the club.
The attacker completed his medical tests and contract signing on Monday to kickstart the signing with both Leverkusen and Bremen, both sharing his wage allocation.
Boniface played an instrumental role under the leadership of Xabi Alonso, helping Leverkusen win their first-ever Bundesliga title and a domestic double, scoring 32 goals in 61 appearances across two seasons with the club.
