Top 20 word definitions Nigerians searched most on Google in 2026: Report

A report on Google search data for 2026 has revealed Nigeria’s 20 most searched-for word definitions.
Research by Unscrambler based on search data from Google Trends for “definition” between January 1 and July 28, 2026, recently published, revealed the “most searched word definitions for Nigeria”.
Love, biology, and introvert rank first, second, and third, respectively, as the most searched word definitions monthly in Nigeria.
Within the period under review, the definition of love was searched 61,800 times, biology came second with 40,400 searches, and introvert ranked third with 36,900 searches.
The search for the definition of narcissist ranked fourth with 36,000 searches, gaslighting ranked fifth with 35,300 searches, and business sixth with 34,500 searches between January and July this year.
According to Unscrambler, the research used Google Trends to discover the most searched word definitions and Ahrefs to find the number of searches.
A spokesperson for Word Unscrambler said, “One of the most striking findings is that Nigeria’s most searched word definitions in 2026 reflect a strong interest in understanding both personal relationships and professional development.
“From love and narcissist to business and government, people are searching for words that help them navigate everyday life, careers and human behaviour. Our research shows that relationships, mental wellbeing, education, professional knowledge and society are the categories that stand out the most.”
