Councillors in the 260 electoral wards in Enugu have pledged to ensure victory for all PDP candidates in the state in the 2023 general elections.
Mr Ndukwe said the raid was in pursuance of the crime-fighting strategies devised by the state’s Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Lawal.
“The leadership issue of IPMAN has been settled by a Supreme Court judgment delivered in Abuja on December 14, 2018,” said the IPMAN chair in Cross River.
“The corps is known for integrity in service delivery and nothing short of that will be given to the good people of the state,” said the NSCDC commandant.
“Our party and platform is PDP. We must stand firm. We must not be swayed by the Obidient sentiments and vote Labour Party,” Mr Nnamani said.
The immediate past Commissioner for Environment scored 81 out of 85 votes cast by delegates.
On July 3, the state government signed a law banning motorcycle riding in the three council areas, Enugu North, Enugu South and Enugu East.
One registrant said there was the need to extend the continuous voter registration beyond July 31 to accommodate the crowd thronging the centres each day.
The Enugu Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) says it has beefed up security in its Enugu, Nsukka and Oji-River custodial centres.
Bakers blamed undue regulatory hurdles and fines as contributing to the crisis.
