Governor Seyi Makinde’s government has approved March 11 as the date for the installation ceremony of Lekan Balogun as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The APC leader alleged that people were being recruited to frustrate his, and Yorubas, quest but he remained undaunted.
The former Lagos governor was at the palace of Alaafin of Oyo on Sunday.
“The police are your friends and let us work together. The earlier we remove the bias on people in uniform, the better for all of us.”
The centre, run by the Oyo State Government, houses destitutes relocated from the state’s metropolis.
The event is organised by a conglomerate of politicians across party lines in Oyo State.

The daredevil criminals, numbering about seven, waylaid the cash-laden van in Ibadan at about 1:00 p.m., carting away with an unspecified amount of money.
Mr Olaoluwa, 27, is standing trial on a three-count charge of fraud, conspiracy and stealing.
