Traditional ruler tasks Lagos police commissioner on performance

A traditional ruler in Osun, Oyedotun Olukayode, the Orangun of Ila Kingdom, has charged the police commissioner in Lagos, Adegoke Fayoade, to give his best.
The traditional ruler gave the charge on Thursday when he visited the police chief at the command headquarters, Ikeja, to congratulate him on his promotion.
He prayed for the success of the police commissioner and advised him not to forget Ila-Orangun, his hometown, while in office.
“We were very happy when he was promoted to the rank of commissioner of police. There was jubilation in Ila-Orangun.
“He should know where he comes from and he should be a good ambassador and not disappoint us.
“We expect him to perform well and bring honour to us, his people,” he said.
Chairman of Apapa/Iganmu LCDA, Funmilayo Akande, said the people of Ila-Orangun were happy that their son was appointed CP in Lagos.
Ms Akande, who also hails from Ila-Orangun, assured that all sons and daughters of Ila-Orangun in Lagos and elsewhere would support the police commissioner to ensure his success.
Mr Fayoade described the visit as a great honour, saying he was elated about the coming of the traditional ruler to congratulate him and pray for him.
