Two company workers docked for stealing baking materials

Two bakery workers appeared before the Sabo-Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday for allegedly stealing baking materials worth N10 million.
The duo, Kehinde Olojede; 39, and Bukola Ogundare; 39, of no fixed residential addresses, faces a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, and wilful property damage.
The prosecutor, Asp Rita Momah, told the court that the duo committed the offences on May 20 at Breadfield Company at No 52, Ikosi Road, Ketu, Lagos,
Ms Momah alleged that the duo and some others had conspired to steal baking materials worth N10 million and wilfully damaged the disk of closed-circuit television (CCTV).
She told the court that the duo allegedly stole baking flour, baking butter, yeast, nylon, and labels, the property of one Fagbemi Olayinka.
The offences, Ms Momah said, contravened sections 287(7), 350, and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The chief magistrate, Adeola Olatubosun, granted the defendants N5 million bail, each with two responsible sureties.
She directed that the sureties have their addresses verified by the court and adjourned until November 1 for mention.
