Two in court for allegedly receiving stolen property

The police in Abuja on Thursday, charged two businessmen before an Asokoro Magistrates’ court, for allegedly receiving stolen property.
The defendants, David Miracle, of lanto road in Kuje and Ibrahim Sule of no fixed address, are standing trial on a one-count charge of allegedly receiving stolen property.
They each, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The prosecutor, Helen Ochai, alleged that the defendants committed the offence on January 5.
She alleged that they received 28 stolen cell phones and two power banks valued at N3.96 million from one Abubakar Abdullahi.
The prosecutor alleged that the defendants sold the stolen property to another, for the sum of N350, 000.
She said that the matter was reported at the Central Police Station, Abuja, by a nominal complainant, one Ikeh Herieta of Jumia office in Abuja.
The Magistrate, Abdulmajeet Onyangi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of three million naira each, with one surety each in like sum.
Mr Onyangi ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must have a valid means of identification.
He adjourned the case until February 17 for hearing.
