Two in court over alleged theft of welding tools worth N755,000

Two persons, Stephen Agwu and Gambo Ibrahim, were on Tuesday, arraigned before an Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing workshop tools valued at N755,000.
Agwu, 19, and Ibrahim, 27, whose addresses were not given, are charged with conspiracy, felony, breach of peace and stealing.
The Prosecutor, ASP Aminu Isaac, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Feb.10, at Government Technical College, Ikorodu, Lagos.
Mr Isaac said that Agwu stole five welding machines, two grinding machines and eight lengths of 16mm iron rod, belonging to Government Technical College, Ikorodu.
The prosecutor further said that Ibrahim received all the items knowing full well that they were stolen from the school.
He said that the offence contravened Section 411, 287 and 328 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, B.A. Sonuga, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with a surety in like sum.
The magistrate adjourned the case until March 13, for hearing.
