Two women in court for allegedly stealing sanitary pads

Two women, Oluwatoyin Bello and Anuoluwa Adeshina, were arraigned in the Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on Monday for allegedly conspiring among themselves to steal goods worth N2.85 million.
Mses Bello, 35, and Adeshina, 32, whose addresses were not provided, are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery, and stealing.
They both pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.
The prosecutor, ASP Aminu Isaac, said the offences were committed in April in the Idera area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Mr Isaac said the defendants forged receipts of 100 transactions for Joy sanitary pads, which summed up to N2.85 million, the property of Uniglory Industry Company.
He added the offences contravened sections 411, 363 and 287 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
The chief magistrate, B. A. Sonuga, granted the defendants N500,000 bail each, with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until June 26 for further mention.
