U.S. president’s son Hunter Biden found guilty of gun crimes in Delaware

President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, was on Tuesday found guilty on three felony charges related to his efforts to obtain a firearm in 2018 while addicted to drugs.
The younger Biden, who pleaded not guilty last October after being indicted by special counsel David Weiss, was arraigned in Wilmington, Delaware, where his family has maintained influence for decades.
The son of a sitting president has never before faced a criminal trial, much less being found guilty.
The trial comes days after former President Donald Trump was convicted on felony charges related to a hush money payment made to boost his electoral prospects in the 2016 presidential election. But the verdict was seen as largely partisan and rigged, with most legal experts expecting that it would be overturned on appeal.
Mr Biden faces another charge of tax fraud in California in September, and he would now go into that trial as a convicted felon.
