The United Arab Emirates (UAE) said on Friday it had mediated another prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine, securing the release of 386 detainees.

The exchange involved 193 Russians and 193 Ukrainian prisoners, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

With this latest swap, the total number of detainees exchanged between the two countries through UAE mediation has reached 6,691 across 22 mediation initiatives since the conflict began, the statement said.

The ministry said the success reflects confidence in the UAE’s role in supporting efforts to resolve the crisis.

The UAE reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing a peaceful resolution to the conflict and addressing its humanitarian consequences, including issues related to prisoners and refugees.
