Uba Sani fetes in Lagos as bandits abduct 230 Kaduna schoolchildren

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani was among the dignitaries who graced the 2023 Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership Conference in Lagos.
This is as bandits reportedly invaded the LEA Primary School, Kuriga Chikun Local Government Area of the state and kidnapped 230 pupils along with the head teacher and other staff on Thursday morning.
The governor, who is yet to make any official comment on the latest kidnap at the time of filing this report, posted pictures of himself at the Lagos event on his official X handle on Thursday.
He wrote, “I joined the Vice President, His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima, presidents of some African countries, former presidents of Nigeria, governors and a host of other important dignitaries at the 2023 Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership Conference in Lagos.
“I wish to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our own dear Dr Akinwumi Adesina, president of the African Development Bank (AfDB), for deservedly receiving the prestigious 2023 Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership.”
Last Thursday, bandits invaded Gonin-Gora in the same Chikun LGA, prompting residents to barricade the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway in protest against the abduction of an unspecified number of people in the area.
Meanwhile, further details about the latest abduction have yet to emerge.
