Ukraine to receive additional €50 billion from EU under new plan
Ukraine will receive €50 billion ($54.65 billion) loans and grants from the European Union for 2024-2027 under plans by the European Commission in Brussels.
The financial aid will provide perspective and predictability to Ukraine, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Tuesday.
The long-term package allows the EU to adopt “financial support, according to the evolution of the situation on the ground” as Russia’s war in Ukraine “requires utmost flexibility” from Brussels, Ms von der Leyen said.
The EU has so far provided economic, humanitarian, and military aid worth around €70 billion, according to commission figures.
The new financial support is subject to the approval of the EU’s 27 member states and the European Parliament.
