Umahi will develop Nigeria better than Buhari if elected president: APC

The Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has lauded Governor David Umahi for joining the presidential race.
Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha, the APC Caretaker Committee on Wednesday in Abakaliki said that Mr Umahi would bring better infrastructure and economic development if elected president in the 2023 general elections.
“Aside from the road network crisscrossing the nooks and crannies of the state, there have been constant streetlights since he took over the mantle of leadership,” Mr Okoro-Emegha said.
Mr Okoro-Emegha, however, said that Umahi’s decision to run for the highest office in the land was the best for Nigeria, Ndigbo, and the APC, saying that he would perform creditably considering his monumental achievements both in private life and as governor.
“The governor is not contesting with anybody but with himself in total obedience with the party’s decision.
“Those who knew Ebonyi before the coming of Umahi can be the judge; under Umahi, Ebonyi has been transformed and now competes with developed countries,” he said.
The chairman who also doubles as the Special Security Consultant to the state government said apart from the massive infrastructural development, the administration of Umahi had also brought an appreciable level of peace to the state.
Mr Umahi had declared his intention on Tuesday, vowing to carry on from where President Muhammadu Buhari would have stopped by the end of his tenure if elected president in 2023.
Mr Umahi declared his intention barely 24 hours after APC national leader Bola Tinubu announced that he would contest the presidency in 2023 to build on Mr Buhari’s legacy.
