Umrah: Emir of Ilorin urges pilgrims to pray for peace

The emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has appealed to pilgrims going for the lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia to pray fervently for peace and harmony in the country.
He made the appeal in a statement, signed by his press secretary, Abdulazeez Arowona, on Monday, in Ilorin.
Mr Sulu-Gambari tasked the intending pilgrims to pray for peaceful coexistence, religious harmony and the prevention of breakdown of law and order.
“I urge you all to use this auspicious occasion of Umrah pilgrimage to intensify effort on fervent prayers for Ilorin Emirate, Kwara, Nigeria and humanity at large.
“Let us all pray for the actualisation of global peace amidst ongoing tension and insecurity, among other social vices,” the emir said.
Mr Sulu-Gambari, also the chairman of the Kwara Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba, urged the pilgrims from Kwara and Nigerians in general to be good ambassadors of the nation throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia.
He prayed for the Muslim Ummah, whose intention was to perform (Itikaf) in the last ten days in Jummah mosques across the country, praying Allah to make it easy, with absolute acceptance and maximum rewards.
The emir further prayed for a successful Umrah exercise in sound health and Allah’s providence, as well as the protection of the family members they left at home.
