UNIBEN new VC embarks on assessment tour of student hostels

The newly inaugurated Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin Edo State, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, on Tuesday inspected student hostels barely 24 hours after he assumed office.
The vice chancellor and other top officials of the university visited Hall I, II and III, NDDC and Clinical hostels amid applause from the students.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the inspection, Mr Omoregie said the state of many of the hostels was unacceptable, saying that lot of work was needed to make the hostels more habitable.
He said, “As a former student of the university, I am duty bound to make a difference in the wellbeing of the students.’’
The vice chancellor acknowledged paucity of funds, but assured, however, that he would reach out to stakeholders to provide modern facilities that would make the hostels better and habitable.
