All of Iran’s enriched uranium has been under the IAEA’s “fullest supervision”, Iran’s delegate says.

While there have been no reports “whatsoever” about the diversion of “even one gram of such material”, the Iranian official stated, “the Americans falsely portray Iran’s enriched uranium as a danger”.

This is to distract from its 55-year non-compliance with its own disarmament obligations and in an attempt to demonise and invade Iran, according to the Iranian delegate at the NPT review conference.

He noted that the massive attacks on Iran’s schools, universities, hospitals, bridges, homes, mosques, churches and synagogues were “delusionally intended to destroy our integrity, independence and civilisation” and “get our oil and gas”.

The representative of the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday, however, condemned in the strongest terms Iran’s missile and drone attacks against his country and others in the region.

“This terrorism cannot be separated from the serious and long-standing concerns surrounding Iran’s nuclear and missile programmes. A state that unleashes large-scale unprovoked attacks against its neighbours, while simultaneously restricting international verification, cannot credibly assert the peaceful nature of its activities,” the Emirati official said.

He called on Iran to immediately restore “full, unconditional and sustained” cooperation with the IAEA, provide complete transparency on its nuclear programme and comply fully without conditions with its safeguard obligations.

He also pointed out the development of nuclear and ballistic missile programmes by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
