We’ll double efforts to curb insecurity, Akeredolu assures Ondo residents

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo has assured the state’s residents that his administration will double its efforts in the fight against insecurity.
While congratulating the Muslims on the Eid-el-Kabir festival, Mr Akeredolu assured residents of safety, adding that security operatives had been deployed to strategic places.
“On our part, we shall continue to prioritise the security of lives and property of our people. We have seen the need to redouble our efforts,” the governor said.
In a statement by his media aide, Richard Olatunde, in Akure, Mr Akeredolu also urged Muslims to reflect on the essence of Eid-el-Kabir and rededicate themselves to Allah’s commands.
The governor called on the residents to be vigilant and report suspicious faces and movements to the security agencies and give them all necessary support.
“We call on all our mosques to install, use and maintain CCTV devices and other secret cameras in their premises, as well as employ well-trained security personnel to man the entry and exit points to their premises.
“We must join our voices to fight the enemies of the people who are daily visiting untold terror on innocent citizens,” he said.
