We’ll mobilise 2.5 million registered voters to elect Funsho Doherty Lagos governor: ADC

National chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ralph Okey Nwosu, says his party will mobilise the 2.5 million registered voters who have never voted in previous elections to elect Funso Doherty next Lagos governor.
Mr Nwosu made this assertion while declaring his support for Mr Doherty, who on Tuesday in Lagos, declared his intention to run for the governorship on the platform of the ADC.
“It is going to be tough to win Lagos, but we will target the 2.5 million people who have never voted in previous elections in Lagos. Their vote is enough to make you the next governor,” Mr Nwosu said.
“We welcome Funso into the party. ADC is a learning organisation not the regular political parties. We must stop deceiving ourselves by thinking less.
“Enough is enough; we must match this with action. Lagos represents corporate Nigeria. We will not surrender or relent until Funso gets to the government house,” the ADC chief added.
He noted that the electoral act signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari was poised to bring sanity into the nation’s electoral system.
Managing director of Pension Alliance, while declaring his intention, Mr Doherty told journalists that he strongly believes that Lagos needs somebody to reform the state’s public service sector.
As governor, he promised to reduce the burden of tax and regulatory harassment on small enterprises, improve the ease of doing business, deliver innovative traffic, power and broadband.
