Wike sacks FCT-IRS acting chairman
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has sacked the acting executive chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Michael Ango.
Lere Olayinka, senior special assistant to the minister on public communication and social media, announced the sack in a statement in Abuja on Friday.
Although no reason was provided for the sack, the most senior official of the FCT-IRS had been directed to take over the running of the Service with immediate effect.
Mr Ango was appointed acting chairman of FCT-IRS in August 2024.
He succeeded Haruna Abdullahi, who had served as acting chairman for about three years.
