Wike says FCT bus, taxi terminals to begin operations soon

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says the completed FCT bus and taxi terminals will begin operations soon following approval of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
Mr Wike disclosed this in Abuja on Friday, after inspecting ongoing projects in the territory, including the Mabushi Bus Terminal Road, to provide access to the terminal.
He expressed joy that President Bola Tinubu and the FEC had approved the management of the two bus terminals in Mabushi and Kugbo under a public-private partnership arrangement.
Mr Wike explained that the bus terminals, though completed and inaugurated in 2025, could not begin operations because their management was above ministerial approval.
“We had to go to the FEC, and now the management has been approved. The management team was with me today, and they are putting processes in place to see that they commence operation soon.
“I am happy that, although we have waited for this long, the waiting will be over in the next one or three weeks,” he said.
Speaking on the inspected projects, the minister expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work at the Mabushi bus terminal road.
He disclosed that the road would be inaugurated to mark Mr Tinubu’s third anniversary.
Mr Wike also commended the quality of delivery of the Arterial Road N1 from Wuye District to Ring Road II and expressed optimism that it would be completed and handed over before the end of the year.
He said FCT residents deserve the best and that Mr Tinubu is doing everything possible to give it to them.
