Wizkid wins MOBO Best International Act, Best African Music Art
Grammy-winning artist Wizkid has won two Music of Black Origin (MOBO) awards.
The ‘Essence’ crooner was awarded the MOBO Best International Act and Best African Music Act.
“Two awards in one night for @wizkidayo. Congratulations on winning Best International Act,” said MOBO on its Instagram page.
For the Best International Act category, Wizkid was nominated alongside Doja Cat, Drake, Kanye West, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion, Polo G, Rema, and Skillibeng.
Wizkid was up against Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, CKay, Davido, King Promise, NSG, Rema, Tems, and Tiwa Savage in the Best African Music Act category.
On November 23, Grammy awards also nominated Wizkid in the Best Global Music Album and Best Global Music Performance categories.
His ‘Made in Lagos’ album and hit track ‘Essence’ have gained worldwide recognition since its release.
