Xmas: Gov Yusuf felicitates Christians, urges peaceful coexistence

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano has congratulated Christians in the state on the occasion of the 2024 Christmas.
This is contained in a goodwill message by his media aide, Sunusi Bature, on Wednesday in Kano.
Mr Yusuf rejoiced with Christians who witnessed yet another moment of celebration and urged them to embrace the spirit of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
He emphasised the need to strengthen the spirit of brotherhood, unity and love in spite of diversities, stressing, “That’s the only driving force to progress in the country.”
The governor enjoined Christians to reflect on the enduring spirit of humanity, love, honesty, kindness and forgiveness that Jesus Christ preached and inculcated as they imbibed the messages and lessons of the scripture.
Mr Yusuf also reiterated his commitment to infrastructure development in education, health, and social and economic sectors geared towards improving the living conditions of the people.
The governor urged the people to support his administration’s policies and programmes, and shun acts capable of causing a security breach, warning that his government would not condone attempts to disrupt the relative peace in the state.
According to Mr Yusuf, the state government is working with security agencies to deal with groups or individuals plotting to foment trouble.
Mr Yusuf has donated N20 million to selected Christian groups to enable them to celebrate Christmas in the state.
